We are committed to providing honest, responsive, effective, innovative and ethical representation.
What this means is that we will represent you honestly, with the integrity that you deserve and with a case which lends dignity to your cause. We will be effective because we work hard and our judgment and experience tells us what works best. (For instance, Wes has tried over 100 civil cases in federal and state courts.) We will be responsive to you, because we know that success in legal matters is a team effort, including what you as our valued client bring to the table in terms of experience and knowledge – and as a person.
When we speak of innovative representation, it is more than just words. Wes and Sam litigated Sun Mountain Productions, Inc. v. Pierre, 84 Wn. App. 608, 929 P.2d 494 (1997), prevailing in an innovative argument which has made it one of the nation's leading cases on the tort of negligent parental supervision. In 1998, Randy was awarded the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association (WSTLA) Public Justice Award for his work on Birklid v. The Boeing Company, 127 Wn.2d 853, 904 P.2d 278 (1995), a 1995 en banc (9-0) decision of the state Supreme Court that changed Washington State law regarding employer liability for "deliberate" injury by allowing, for the first time in 73 years, a disputed claim of deliberate injury to proceed against the state's largest employer. As for ethics, our firm enjoys Martindale-Hubbell's coveted "AV" rating, a peer review process awarding our firm the highest rating available for competence and ethics. Randy served as as a Hearing Officer for the Washington State Bar Association's office of disciplinary counsel, has served as an expert witness on legal ethics, and instructs law students and lawyers on ethics issues. Sam serves on the Bar Examiners' Committee preparing questions and grading the Bar Exam for incoming lawyers. Wes and Randy have litigated cases involving professional responsibility of lawyers. Our associate, Kristine (Tini) Grelish, joins us directly from her one-year service for the Washington State Court of Appeals.
We are trial lawyers with the experience and confidence to take your case the whole distance – and the experience and confidence to advise you every step along the way. We will work closely with you to help assure that the legal process best serves your interests. It is our privilege and pleasure to be of service to you. Making justice happen is our life's work.
